Yesterday the honor ceremony of graduates of Program of educational grants of Public fund “Yerzhan Foundation of Yerzhan Tatishev” 2013 has taken place. This year 14 scholars, who have successfully received an education in educational institutions of the country, became graduates of the program of educational grants of Foundation.

Out of them five graduates have received an education according to the Program of educational grants for children from needy families, three according to the Program for graduates of orphanages, and six according to the Program for children with disabilities.

The graduates, the founders of the Foundation: Yerlan Tatishev and Yerkin Tatishev, members of the Board of trustees of Foundation, representatives of partner universities and colleges, representatives of international organizations and parents of graduates have participated in an awards ceremony.

During the years of existence Public fund “Yerzhan Foundation of Y. Tatishev” has defined its program priorities and continues to work on development of professional and personal potential of children. The programs of educational grants focused on support of talented and ambitious youth are the main activity of the Foundation.

The first Program of educational grants has been started in 2007, other two – in 2008. In total the Foundation had two graduations in 2011 and 2012. Today, within educational programs of the Foundation there are 21 graduates and this year 14 graduates have joined the program.

In total during 2007-2012 146 264 090 tenge was spent on Programs of educational grants, which in average course for this period comprises more than 1 million US dollars. In total for these years 75 grants have been allocated. Though the Foundation had also experienced “losses” — according to the Provision on the Program of educational grants, the Foundation supports only the most talented and ambitious children.

Unfortunately, the Foundation has to leave those children who don’t maintain the requirements of Foundation. But there are not many such losses, generally children have high academic performance (by criteria the GPA has to be higher than 80%) and actively participate in volunteer projects (under the terms of the Program children have to return investments made by the Foundation to society through implementation of socially significant projects and volunteer work).

Uniqueness of programs is that the Foundation not just gives an opportunity to get a worthy education, but also promotes all-round development and formation of professional skills of scholars. Educational grants cover not only the cost of study for the entire period, also a monthly stipend, accommodation costs and transportation expenses for nonresident scholars are paid.

Being in constant interrelation with scholars, the Foundation undertakes the coordinating role and promotes development of their best qualities and skills.

Many scholars actively participate in various international programs uniting students of the whole world: AISEC, SIFE and others, they are the best students of their universities and go abroad according to exchange programs for study during one-two semester to foreign universities.

On the basis of Foundation there is a Club of scholars which includes several directions: Debating club, Volunteer activity and School of leadership. Each direction of club is a result of joint efforts of the Foundation and scholars.
