On September 28-29, 2017, Kentau passed the selection of scholarship holders under the Yerzhan Tatishev Foundation’s Named Scholarship Program. This Fund Program has existed for ten years and is being implemented in support of students of school-lyceum No. 16 named after Yu.A. Gagarin, Kentau. Each year, the Fund carries out selection among students in grades 8,9,10,11 and establishes scholarships for one academic year. The main indicators by which the fellows were selected are academic performance, achievements in subject competitions, creativity and sports, as well as the presentation of the project. This year, eight children became holders of scholarships. All design ideas selected this year aim to improve the conditions of stay at school: to improve the educational process, diversify leisure time and make staying at school more comfortable. Before submitting their design ideas, the contestants tested them on the target audience for which they are designed.
The projects selected this year, like the projects of previous years, were evaluated on the basis of their relevance and feasibility, long-term, sustainability and originality of their implementation. Also, during the assessment, the portfolios were studied, which collected letters, diplomas, certificates and evidence of achievement of each competitor, a report card for the last academic year. In addition, the contestants spoke about themselves, their family, friends, hobbies and plans. Each indicator was evaluated on a five-point scale.
Most of the contestants this year are students in eighth and ninth grades. The children were puzzled by hygiene issues at school and on school grounds, issues of psychological adaptation and unloading, and the intellectual and creative development of school students.
