The winners were determined by the competition. Grants were shared by 13 leading universities in Kazakhstan.

The winners received grants from the deputy mayor of Astana and a member of the trustee fund named after Yerzhan and Yerkin Tatishevs. The majority of grants were devoted to innovative specialties. One of the requirements of the grant presume that the graduates will work off for three years. They will be able to create a business from a scratch. What is more, the most outstanding and talented students will be provided with funds of 1 million tenge for opening a startup. Also, they will be sent to a summer entrepreneurship camp in the United States of America.

As stated by Anuar Zhangozin, Head of Department of Education of Astana: “These grants are mostly dedicated to entrepreneurship and big data analysis. In addition, there is a great emphasis on pedagogical specialties, health care and other areas of city development and architecture.
