10th of June, 2014 – Yerzhan Tatishev Foundation keeps following its mission giving the opportunity for young people to get the most important capital – education.

Today, the honoring ceremony of graduates of educational grants was held on public Foundation “Foundation “Yerzhan” named after Yerzhan Tatishev” 2014. This year, ten scholars that successfully finished educational institutions of the country, have become graduates of the Program of educational grants. Five of them were educated through the Program of educational grants for young people from needy families and others through the Program for young people with disabilities.

Participation at the award ceremony involved lots of people, such as scholars who have got higher education in educational institutions of the country, the founder and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Foundation – Yerlan Tatishev, representatives of the partner universities – KIMEP University, International Academy of Business, International Business University, Suleyman Demiral University, and also heads of partner colleges, representatives of international organizations and local NGOs, parents of graduates and graduates of past years. Also, many partners and friends of the Foundation came to congratulate our scholars.

Scholars of the Foundation are considered to be attractive workers for employers. One of the reasons is base knowledge that corresponds to high standards and is in high demand on the labor market. Moreover, guys are getting good experience performing social volunteer projects in order to successfully apply them at professional work in leading national and international companies.

The qualifying round and the ceremony of awarding the grants in 2010 have become a history of the Foundation and have been shown as the video frames for the guests of the evening. Current graduates, passing through the complicated selection on such criterion as leadership skills, flexibility, communication skills, intellectual potential, and also financial position, were able to prove that exactly they are worthy of receiving an educational grant of the Foundation and the honorary title of scholars. Guests were able to see the video with the most interesting and important social projects, which were attended by graduates of 2014 during learning time, as well as the bright moments spent together with the Foundation. The graduates shared their emotions and doubts, joy and gladness, that they have experienced, passing through all three rounds of selection; they also told about volunteer projects and the time spent with the Foundation in their movie.

Among the speakers were: Vice President of KIMEP University on corporate development – Balzhan Suzhikova, Vice-Rector on Academic Affairs of the International Academy of Business – Nurzhamal Duisenkulova and the Dean of the Faculty of Finance of the University of International Business – Anar Makhmetova. They expresses their gratitude to the Foundation for the productive cooperation and for contribution to the development of the country.

Chairman of the Board of Trustees – Yerlan Tatishev and the President of the Foundation – Dana Zharikova congratulated the graduates, gave them memorable souvenirs and wished them success in their future career. In his parting words, Yerlan Nureldaemovich noted that each of them, being a scholar of the Foundation, has received a good experience and skills, and today they may consider themselves as successful persons, and good education will open up new opportunities for profitable career.

The song “Guardian Angel” performed by Zekeyeva Madina, a guitar instrumental composition performed by Nogaybayeva Aigerim and hot dances from the group “Savage” made the evening even more colorful.

The official part of the ceremony has been finished by the speech of president of the Foundation – Dana Zharikova. Dana thanked the Board of Trustees, universities and colleges, in which scholars of the Foundation receive an education, experts who help in the process of selection of the best applicants for the educational grants every year; moreover, she expressed a great gratitude to all partners and friends who provide invaluable support and assistance in the activities of the Foundation. Traditionally, a burning candle has been sent to the hall as a symbol of faith in the future, purity and openness, fairness and complicity toward honorable mission of the Yerzhan Tatishev’s Foundation. The final chord of the evening were parting words and as Kazakh tradition “Bata” from Saule apa, who is a grandmother of current year’s graduate – Ainur Suleimenova, with the best wishes to young people, who are entering a new adult life.

In total, today 45 people have received an education in the framework of the educational programs of the Foundation, and 14 of them received a red diploma. During 2007-2013, 146 264 090 tenge was spent on the programs of educational grants, and 22 027 549 tenge in 2013-2014 academic years. Totally, 79 grants have been allocated, 47 grants of which were received by young people from needy families and graduates of orphanages and 32 grants for young people with disabilities.

One of the unique features of the programs of the Foundation is that the Foundation does not simply provide an opportunity to get a good education, but also contributes to the comprehensive development and the formation of professional skills of the scholars. Educational grants cover not only the cost of tuition for the whole period, but also the cost of monthly allowance, cost of living in the dormitory and travel to the homeland and back once a year for non-resident scholars. Being in a constant relationship with the students, the Foundation takes upon itself a big responsibility and contributes to the development of their best qualities and skills.

There is a club of scholars that does exist on the basis of the Foundation and which includes several directions: Discussion Club, Volunteering activities and Leadership School. Each direction of the club is a result of collaborative efforts of the Foundation and the scholars themselves.

The most significant projects performed by the scholars of the Foundation are charity concert “Contant of generations”, dedicated to the World Day of old-aged persons; memorial concert dedicated to the birthday of Yerzhan Tatishev for students of specialized boarding school №2 for children with disorders of the musculoskeletal system, creative activities for children from 3 to 14 years who are receiving a treatment in children’s department of the Institute of Oncology. New Year’s concert brought a positive diversity in the life of children of the Orphanage “Baganashil”.

Our volunteers provide a strong support to the Association of Women with Disabilities called “Shyrak”, and to the orphanages in Almaty, Astana, Almaty region; furthermore, the Foundation’s volunteers provide assistance for a shelter of temporary detention of juveniles in Almaty city in realization of their socially significant projects.

Many scholars are actively participated in different international programs, uniting the students all over the world: AISEC, ENACTUS and they are the best students of their universities. One of the bright achievements is a project “Second Life” performed by the scholar of the Foundation 2011, third year student of International Academy of Business and a member of the team Enactus IAB – Kopbayeva Laura. She has become a winner of the contest “Change the world around you” with the project for the collection and utilization of plastic bottles in Almaty and received a grant of 300 000 tenge for realization of the project. Scholars were studied on exchange programs in universities of South Korea, the Netherlands and Hungary. Scholar of the Foundation, a third year student of International Academy of Business – Laura Kopbayeva took part in the Fourth annual Social Good Summit in New-York, USA, as well as in international competitions SIFE Enactus, which was held in Mexico, being a member of the team SIFE of International Academy of Business as an observer in the delegation from Kazakhstan. Second year student of International Academy of Business – Pirogova Anastasiya worthily represented the Foundation and the country itself. Being a member of Kazakh delegation, she has participated in the European Congress in Kiev that was dedicated to the theme “The role of youth in the development of social entrepreneurship”.
