On April 4, 2018, a presentation of Rocket Pitch business projects was held for AlmaU students studying in the specialty “Management” with an additional specialization in entrepreneurship. The guys presented their business projects that they worked on during the academic semester. Minor Entrepreneurship students completed specialized disciplines such as introduction to entrepreneurship, idea generation, creative thinking, Canvas business model, lean startup, the art of presenting a business project.

11 projects were presented to the experts, of which 6 were prepared by the Foundation’s fellows. Experts evaluated students’ projects according to criteria such as problem statement, business concept, value proposition, market and customer definition, competitive positioning, revenue model, team and resource definition, and talked about their next steps in implementing their business. Each student was able not only to present his business project, but also to receive valuable advice, comments and evaluation from the jury.

By unanimous decision of the jury, the winner of the contest among scholars of the Yerzhan Tatishev Foundation was the Balmuzdak.net project, sponsored by Almas Toleubaev and Azamat Abitai. According to the idea of ​​the guys, their website Balmuzdak.net will be of great help for applicants and their parents, as well as other young people interested in questions – where and how to get a grant for training, which university and what specialty to choose, in which city to study, is whether the hostel is at the chosen educational institution and other issues important for its future customers. The guys have already created a beta version of the site, they have a vision and first calculations for the implementation of their business project.

As part of the Yerzhan Tatishev Foundation’s Educational Grants Program, Bes Tirek, children will go to the summer entrepreneurship camp at one of the best entrepreneurship training universities, Babson College in the United States. Almas and Azamat will have the opportunity to deepen their knowledge, gain valuable experience communicating with students from all over the world, and most importantly, get powerful motivation to implement their business ideas and projects. We believe that they will have more than one business idea and more than one business project and all of them will be successful.
