On September 10, 2015 in Almaty, the graduation ceremony was held and congratulations were passed to the fellows who become grantees of the Yerzhan Tatishev Foundation.

The event, which was held in the hospitable walls of the partner university of the Fund, Almaty Management University, brought together the closest friends and partners who have supported us for several years. The ceremony was opened by the Chairman of the Population Council and the Founder of the Fund, Erkin Tatishev, congratulating everyone on this important event for the Fund and wishing our children starting a new and interesting stage in life,not to lose their enthusiasm and thirst for knowledge, move forward and improve their knowledge and skills. The guests made an excursion into the past by watching videos in which footage from the Competitive Selection and the 2011 Scholarship Awards Ceremony were captured, as well as shots of student life and interesting volunteer projects in which our graduates participated. Among the guests were long-standing partners and friends of the Fund: Kuat Dombay, Kurmangazy Talzhanov, Marat Aitmagambetov, Zakhira Begalieva, as well as representatives of partner universities: Enes Kurtay Chig, Balzhan Suzhikova, Asylbek Kozhakhmetov, Nurzhamal Duysenkulova. In their speeches, they especially noted the contribution that our Foundation makes to the education of youth and the development of education. The only bachelor’s graduate this year was Laura Kopbaeva. She received an honors degree in Finance and was named the best student of Almaty Management University. We were especially pleased with the guys, who completed their studies at colleges this year under the Educational Grants Program for young people with disabilities. Zhasulan Zhumabek from Kentau, SKO, graduated from the Almaty Medical College with a degree in medical assistant and entered the International Kazakh-Turkish University named after H.A. Yasaui at the Faculty of Medicine. Asiya Zholboldieva received a diploma from the Kazakh-Turkish humanitarian and technological college in the specialty “Translation Studies” and plans to try her hand at the chosen profession. Argyn Kenbabin mastered the intricacies of the legal profession at Balkhash Multidisciplinary College and currently works in the Akimat of Balkhash. Argyn moved in a wheelchair and, due to the lack of lifting devices on trains, was unable to join the holiday, but expressed his great gratitude to the Fund through a video message that the graduates prepared and presented to the guests.

In addition to training professional personals to economics and finance, one of the Fund’s strategic priorities is the cultivation of socially responsible leaders. The Fund is trying to spread the idea of ​​succession of generations among graduates, and the first grant in the history of the Fund from graduates of the Fund has become a striking example and implementation of this idea. Each graduate, looking back, realizes the importance of receiving support at the right and decisive moment in life. Two years ago, graduates who had already gained financial independence decided to make monthly charitable donations. Konstantin Kravchenko, a 2012 graduate of the Fund, was a member of the Contest Committee and participated in the selection of scholarship holders of 2015 and awarded a grant to the Fund Alumni Club Daria Amirtay (Taraz). Kostya said that he was glad to see the selection process from the inside and once again became convinced of its honesty and transparency. He also spoke about his path as a scholarship holder, about successes and failures, and wished the new scholarship holders great heights. In addition to Daria, the Foundation’s scholarship holders were: Aruzhan Magzomova (Uralsk), Bauyrzhan Uzakov (Taraz) and Darkhan Kalibekov (Ayagoz), Zhumagulova Zhanerke (Almaty). Graduates and scholarship holders of the Fund were awarded with souvenirs.

The President of the Foundation, Dana Zharikova, in her speech expressed appreciation for the fruitful cooperation of the Fund’s long-standing partners – Almaty Management University and KIMEP University, and handed in letters of thanks.
