The results of “BesTirek” Program competitive selection first round were summed up on June 19, 2020. Out of the total of applications, which is 595 people from all over Kazakhstan, 26 applicant received confirmation letters and are preparing to participate in the second round.

To participate in the first round, it was required to register on the website, fill out a questionnaire and attach documents to it concerning the applicant’s personal qualities, his academic performance, skills and abilities, achievements in subject competitions, sports, social life, as well as about the financial status of his family. Now they have to prove in practice all their knowledge and skills and convince the Competition’ Commission of their uniqueness.

Due to the pandemic, the selection process are taking place online. One of its negative influences was refusals to further participate in the competition, which were associated with the difficulties of collecting documents in quarantine.

The lack of skills in working with online services, the workload of the egov.kz portal and the restrictions on the work of public service centers certainly influenced the process of collecting documents. Only 277 out of the 595 users, who was registered on the Foundation’s website,  were able to collect a full package of competition documents.A small part of the refusals was associated with a loss of income and a lack of even minimal funds for collecting documents, as well as the choice of contestants in favour of earnings. However, we cannot fail to note the advantages of restrictions: people have become more mobile and were able to experience the benefits of online services.

Each contestant is unique and interesting in its own way, but any competition includes selection competition. For those who did not pass, we wish you not to give up and move on.
